People always asked, “Why would you travel to Taiwan over and over again?” “Is Taiwan really that much to see?”
Apart from its spectacular attractions and incredible food, I believe it is the “hospitality" of its people that make me want to visit here again and again. In my eyes, the most beautiful landscape of Taiwan is “Taiwanese”. Thetare the most hospitable and friendly people I have ever met. I have received endless help from them throughout my journeys in Taiwan; they never fail to surprise me and lighten up my day. Some people I met along the trip have eventually become very close friend of mine.
I will never forget once I hiked a hill with my backpack in Puli, there were only three persons when I arrived and I kindly asked them to take a photo for me. They replied with a simple ‘yes’ and asked how did I get there, they couldn’t believe I walked there! Next, they invited me for a hotpot lunch and I joined their itinerary. Since then, I stay at their home every time I visit Taiwan; I also became the local tourist guide when they visited Hong Kong in 2014 summer.
( When my mum had dinner with them, she asked, “Aren’t you scared of letting him to get on your car, take him to dinner and even stay at your home?” )
Everything happened just because of a simple act – asking them to take a photo for me. I am very blessed and thankful to receive endless helps from everyone; my experiences become meaningful and brilliant because of them.
Traveling is not about the number of places you have visited; nor the beautiful picture you have captured. I believe the most essential element of any journey lies upon the people you met along the way.
Therefore, it doesn’t matter if have visited Taiwan before. Come to this amazing island and create your one and only memories with the friendliest people on earth. Taiwan’s stunning sceneries, amazing food and its people’s enthusiasm are here waiting.
